We are pleased to share that Denise B. Prince, MBA, MPH, has joined the Mount Sinai Health System as Senior Vice President, Population Health, and Chief Operating Officer, Mount Sinai Health Partners. Ms. Prince has extensive experience improving the health of populations through innovation and the application of diverse start-up and operations experience to optimize team performance.

For more than 27 years, Ms. Prince worked with Geisinger Health System in a variety of positions. Most recently, she was System Vice President, Value-Based Care, and Vice President, Population Health. In those roles she spearheaded the creation of the Keystone ACO joint venture, which supports a population health partnership with community hospitals and clinically integrated networks. Ms. Prince was responsible for the strategy and execution of Medicare alternative payment models. She guided three hospitals through Medicare bundled payment program strategy and implementation—notably the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Initiative and the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model—with positive quality and financial results.  She also founded and managed Geisinger Ventures, the organization’s commercialization and intellectual-property management arm.

Ms. Prince is an influential figure in the value-based care community nationally, both on the meeting circuit and through publications. In 2016, her home-care services leadership propelled Geisinger’s win of the Visiting Nurse Associations of America National Award for Innovative Leadership; she is a board member of the National Association of Accountable Care Organizations.

We look forward to working with Ms. Prince as she spearheads the transformation of clinical operations to create a world-class population health management infrastructure in support of the triple aim objectives for national health reform: improved quality, improved health outcomes, and reduced costs. Her extensive experience as an executive leader for operational, administrative, clinical, and financial areas in population health operations will be instrumental to the growth of the Health System and will support Mount Sinai Health Partners’ objective to be the most effective population health manager in the New York market.
