Dear Mount Sinai alumni,
This is an exciting and historic time to be a member of the Mount Sinai community.
The formation of the Mount Sinai Health System is providing exceptional opportunities for translational research across all disciplines—research whose outcomes will forever change the way we deliver care, treat patients, and support our communities.
As a fully integrated health system unified around one medical school, we also offer an unparalleled training experience for our medical students and house staff.
In order to address the changing needs of our alumni, we have established a distinguished Alumni Advisory Council, comprising members of all our alumni constituencies: graduates of the MD and PhD programs, former house staff, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty, as well as Past Presidents of The Mount Sinai Alumni Association. This new governing board is creating many new opportunities for strengthening our relationship with all of you so that we may renew and enrich your experience with Mount Sinai.
The Council will ensure that you find a stronger, more integrated presence for alumni within the School. You will be hearing from us more often with news of the Icahn School of Medicine, ways to be connected to students and faculty, and mentoring opportunities. We will seek your suggestions for events and activities – including reunion – that reflect your ideas for programming. And you will be offered significant platforms for philanthropy that reflect our central focus on scholarships.
The formation of the Mount Sinai Health System not only provides us with a revolutionary health care model; it means we can fulfill our educational mission with unparalleled opportunities and promise.
Thank you for being proud ambassadors for Mount Sinai.
